Bistro 1501

This restaurant is beautiful to say the least. It is located inside the Marriott Hotel in Lake Mary, FL and really is a gorgeous place to relax. When we arrived, there was a very pleasant hostess to seat us and our waitress promptly brought an assortment of breads to choose from. Along with the bread was an amazing tomato-based spread and pats of butter. We tried the MOST incredible lobster bisque that melted in our mouths and so several more note-worthy dishes. If you're into steak then you should definitely try the NY Strip, it was succulent, definitely not tough.

Now, our favorite part was the dessert. We had this chocolate molten cake that was really delicious. The ultimate dish was the Key Lime Pie! It was delicious, not too sweet, not too tangy, NOT green and just the most sensual texture that has ever graced your palate.

Panullo's Italian Restaurant

In the hometown of one of our nation’s top schools, Rollins College, there is a beautiful little downtown area on Park Ave. This area is full of trendy shops and eateries with beautiful people strolling about. We don’t scurry here in sunny Florida because we are too busy smelling the flowers and enjoying friends and family. Now speaking of enjoyment, there is a wonderfully quaint little place, by the name of Panullo’s Italian Restaurant, situated in the heart of this college town. Besides the fact that the ambience is refreshing and contemporary, the food was exquisite and the portions were plentiful. We began with the Lobster Stuffed Ravioli, then moved on to Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Marsala. Of course, we sampled one another’s dishes to compare and this time we agreed that the while the Parmigiana was divine, the Marsala was the favorite. If you are ever near Winter Park, FL, take the time out to dine at Panullo’s then take a nice stroll in the beautiful adjacent park. If you are anything like your Phat Guides, you will welcome the walk about town after such a wonderful meal.

Olive Garden

We love Olive Garden so much because it has great Italian food, the ambience is nice and cozy yet family-friendly and the portion sizes are huge. They have two new chicken dishes called Stuffed Chicken Prosciutto and Stuffed Chicken Florentine. Of course, your Phat Guides had to try these dishes out for you and they were both divine. We shared the dishes and could'nt decide our favorite but we came to the unanimous conclusion that Olive Garden deserves a spot on our Phat Eats page. So heres to Olive Garden, Grazie!

Houlihan's

There is only one word to describe how we feel about this place. LOVE IT!! Okay, that's two words but you get the point. Let's start with the curb appeal, this place has got it because just while walking up to the restaurant you know you are in for a fabulous feast. Your PhatGuides went outside to the tiki-like bar and began our experience with drinks. If you go to the Houlihan's in the Orlando/Kissimmee area, ask for the "Pimp Juice," its a nice little drink William, our bartender, whipped up. The fun really began once the hostess showed us to our table and we ordered. Try the Chipotle Nachos or Calamari to start and then head straight to the Chicken Parm because it's wonderful. Now the dessert was to die for and we tried several and passed them around. The apple pie with ice cream was wonderful and so was the chocolate cake but if you want a big big smile on your face get the Creme' Brulee, and enjoy!

O'Hana

O'Hana is a great Hawaiian-style restaurant located in the Polynesian Hotel in Orlando, FL. It has great seating with wide chairs and huge tables to accommodate big groups. The wonderful thing about this all-u-can-eat restaurant is that the food comes to you and in large portions. The service is excellent and, for the price, the overall experience makes O'Hana worthy of your list of places to visit.

Buca di Beppo

Buca di Beppo is a wonderful little Italian restaurant with authentic tasting food. They have some of the largest portions I have seen and a plethora of choices. The Garlic Bread with Mozzarella is my antipasti of choice. Buca di Beppo has all types of insalates, pastas and baked dishes to choose from. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is friendly and family oriented. Buca di Beppo is translated to mean Joe’s Basement and with that in mind, the restaurant has no windows and very unique decorative flair. If you love family, friends and food, you will love this restaurant!

Red Lobsters

Red Lobsters is always a best bet. We love Red Lobsters so much because of the large portions accompanied by salad and bottomless garlic-cheese bread. Not only is the food delicious but it is also very affordable and the seating is very comfortable. Ask for a table, it’s your dime so enjoy yourself when you go out. (Psst… by the way visit the Red Lobsters website for specials being run in your area.)
